Important Times
- Competitor numbering: 6:30am-7:45am
- Compulsory safety briefing: 8:00am-8:20am
- Start time: 9:00am
- *Times are subject to change depending on conditions. Competitors will be notified before the event or during race briefing.
Registrations
- $55 online registration only (closes Friday 9 August 11:59pm)
- No refunds if you cannot participate after registering.
- Registrations are capped at 300 swimmers across all contests.
- Registrations will be refunded where the event is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances.
Commemorative Towels
- Commemorative event towels will be available for the first 200 competitors.
Presentations
- Presentations will be held after the last swimmer finishes at the Darwin Surf Life Saving Club.
- There will be no medals presented.
- Winners of each age group will be recognised at the presentations post-race.
- 1st place Male/Female for Open Short/Long Course will receive a Winners towel.
Parking
- Parking is available on Daribah Road, Casuarina in the allocated car parks.
- This is public parking and managed by Parks and Wildlife NT. Parking rules apply.
- Please refrain from parking on the side of Daribah Road. Please no do park in front of park gates as these are emergency entrances for Rangers and emergency services to assist any park users who need assistance.
- Please use common sense and respect all park users when parking at Casuarina Reserve.
- There will be no competitor or spectator parking at Darwin Surf Life Saving Club.
Race Information
Start line
- Swimmers to make their own way to the start line after registrations.
- A map will be provided at compulsory safety/race briefing to assist and course officials will be on course to assist.
Clothing/personal items
- There will be a container available for shoes/thongs to go from the two start lines to the finish line at Darwin Surf Life Saving Club.
- Please secure your own valuables. Club volunteers will take utmost care of swimmers gear but takes no responsibility for lost items in the transfer process.
Event Rules
Open category
- No swimmer in open categories (ALL categories other than FUN) shall be permitted to use or wear any device which may be an aid in their speed, endurance or buoyancy.
- An approved swimsuit, goggles, a maximum of 2 swim caps, nose peg and ear plugs may be used.
- Swimming cap provided at sign-on must be work at all times whilst in the water.
Fun category
- This is a fun event where swimmers can use fins, snorkels, wetsuits, pull buoys.
- This category is not eligible for medals/awards/presentations.
- You can wear whatever swimsuit you desire if you register for the FUN Category only.
